Petra Bubble Luxotel

If you’ve been to Jordan before, chances are you’ve visited Petra and had several instagrammable moments in front of the infamous Treasury. But for those in the know, seeking a luxurious and one of kind experience, spending a few nights under the stars at Petra’s newest hot spot, the Bubble Luxotel, will surely top your list during your next visit!

Setting The Scene

Imagine waking up every morning to stunning views and going to sleep each night under the stars. Perched high on a mountainside, with panoramic views of the Petra Mountains, the Bubble Luxotel is conveniently located 7 miles from the Petra ruins. The semi-white bubbles, perfectly accented by the warm hues from the sun, paints a picture of what I envision a space settlement to look like on planet Mars.

The Suite Life

The Suite-Life at the Bubble Luxotel features 20 partially see-through bubbles with uninterrupted views of the mountains, an expansive deck with two loungers and a Jacuzzi.

The bedroom is sectioned off with the illusion of an open ceiling, perfect for privacy and star gazing at night.

There’s also a living area (with amazing views), a work space and a private bathroom.

Food & Beverage

Options at the Bubble Luxotel are quite limited and mainly consist of traditional Arabic cuisine, soft drinks and local juices. Do not expect a lengthy menu with tons of international dishes. Choose between the main dinning hall or have all meals served directly to your Bubble.

Activities & Amenities

The Petra Ruins are conveniently located within a 10-minutes drive from the Bubble.

Strengths

Spacious and unique Bubbles Free round-trip transfer to/from Petra Ruins Star gazing at night Serene and private location

Things To Consider

No nearby restaurants/shops (as expected given the remote location) Staff, although friendly, are a bit inattentive Lack of diversity in dining options (for the picky eaters)

Tips Before You Go
  • If you’re traveling during the winter months, be sure to walk with extra layers as the Bubbles become quite cold during the night. There are sufficient blankets available, however, this may not be enough for those who do not handle the cold weather well.
  • Alcohol is not available at the property (during my stay).
  • WiFi can be weak at times.
  • Picky eaters and those with an aggressive appetite (like myself), be sure to walk with some additional snacks.

    Hi,

It seems so beautiful. I’d like to visit, but once you described your dining experience, my husband backed out. Can you go into more detail about the food? Was it bad, were you still hungry after you ate?
    Thank you.

Hi there, thanks for reading! It wasn’t that it was bad as I’m used to Arabic food, it’s more so understanding that this will be your only food option. I was full – I just wasn’t in the mood for that type of cuisine lol. However, don’t let that stop you from experiencing the hotel – it’s really amazing and so close to Petra.

      Happy travels!
