Amid a plethora of things to do in Capetown, South Africa, getting your gastronomy juices flowing tops the list. In comparison to other destinations I’ve visited around the world, Capetown’s cuisine ranks at the top of my list. Below are 5 of my favorite restaurants in the city to indulge in. Enjoy!
MILLERS THUMB
One of Cape Town’s best kept secret, Miller’s Thumb restaurant, is my personal favorite. The aroma of freshly seasoned seafood inside a brightly light cozy room provides the perfect meal away from home. Jane and her amazing staff goes the extra mile to ensure your food and experience remains a step above the rest. Miller’s Thumb was the perfect place to ring in my birthday!
BISTROT BIZERCA
Casual, relaxed bistro-style of eating, Bizerca provides fine dining in terms of food in a down to earth environment in Heritage Sq. Tip: request seating in the brick paved courtyard.

TEST KITCHEN
One of things I like the most about Test Kitchen is the industrialize space with brick walls and exposed beams lining its interior. At Test Kitchen, food is prepared in a theatrical way, boasting a combination of South African and Asian flair. When a restaurant is praised in the top 50 best restaurants in the world, you know you’re in for a treat! Tip: Book in advance!

MAMA AFRICA
Located along the famous Long Street, Mama Africa provides a soulful African vibe and an excellent food experience. At 8PM each evening, a live Marimba band takes the stage and rocks the entire restaurant with current African beats.
BELUGA
Beluga is the perfect mix of elegance and fun. Known for their seafood, dim sum and hand crafted sushi, there’s something suited for every taste. Beluga has daily specials and the service is always superb!
